I {heart} School

One of my favorite parts about going back to school was the school supply shopping. I loved it and to this day I love to shop at the office supply store. I think that office supplies are my second weakness behind craft supplies.... or maybe it sweets!!

Thanks for such a great blog to inspire me and many others!!
I would like to see a trend form where there are more stamps/papers of a popart or comic book style.
That would be so cool.

That is awesome about all the hits, and I see why, your artwork is fabulous. I know people like getting their hands on paper, but digital is so much easier. I think that digital stamps and cutters are the biggest thing going now. And then just add the colors with the CTMH inks.

Congrats Ladies! Email me your mailing address and I will send your prizes right away! (kabrown63@hotmail.com)

So now for my card for this weeks sketch at CPS. I am pretty sure my mojo was on vacation for this card. I really had this idea for really cool planets in my head, but it just didn't come out the way I wanted it to. I'm not sure that the ribbon and button is right either. It just looked really plain so I had to add something.

Gear-up Birthday....

Headed to a birthday party this week at Chuckie-Cheese, a Transformers Birthday party. I created this card and matching tissue in honor of Transformers. (Closest I could get). I image that the tissue will be ripped from the bag by a 5 year old and swept away by the clean up crew, but I had fun making it.

Yeah for Repairs

My Internet service is working again! I was on the verge of going crazy which may mean that I rely on my computer way too much. I have heard of people who do a technology free week-no computer, cell phone or TV. No way could I handle it. No TV or phone would be OK with me. I rarely watch TV and I leave my phone at home 1/2 the time, but the computer, can't do it.
I rely on the computer at work and at home. Let's just say I need the Internet to function-like coffee!
This is my favorite set of colors thus far for the Color Me Monday Challenge. I can't wait to put them together on more projects.

Let's Do Lunch!

This cute basket is a template from papertreyink.com. All I did was add the scoring and distressing to make it look like a picnic basket!

My internet is really acting up today, so I going to skip the details.... I will add them later. If you have a question, leave me a comment and I will try to answer it.

Looks like I am getting close to 75000 hits, so look for a contest/prize next weekend.
And I have a new project with a template that I will be finishing up this weekend So Look for that soon too.

Have a great weekend.

Wow...So many colors!

When I first saw this combo, I thought no way am I going to be able to get all of those colors on one card. As all of you are aware, I am a 3 color kinda girl!
It wasn't as hard as I thought. I used a design detail for the flower from Karen Pedersen. I just loved her flower on this card, and tried to re-create it.

Purple Hibiscus?

Early last week I was working on a up-coming class, you can see it here, on tropical cards. I had several scrap pieces left on my table, and I decided to make this quick card.
I love this hibiscus stamp set from CTMH, most likely because I love hibiscus! My favorite are the yellow. This card has a purple hibiscus on (because the person I made it for loves purple) but I don't think I have ever seen hibiscus in purple.
What is your favorite color of hibiscus?

Color me Monday--shaped card

Recently I came accross a card shaped like this. I'm sure the original designer used some sort of die cut to create theirs, because it was perfect. I don't have a die cut, or even a shape like this, so I created my own.

Below you will see the template. To make this I used a piece of 3x6 scrap and folded it in half both directions. I then free handed with a pencil the shape on one of the 4 sections. I then cut that section and the folded an traced it to the other sections, and so on. I hope that makes sense?

This is my card for the Color Me Monday combo over at Jeanette Lyntons blog. Be sure to go check it out, because she has a really cute circle card.

Thinking of You Sketch Card

This is my card for this weeks Sketch over at CPS. If I could change one thing I think I would make the button creme brulee colored instead of the tulip.
But, I like it as it is for now.

A few bushes and a tree were cut down in the back yard. This is really playing havoc on my photography locations. This guy is going to have to serve as my new place for awhile, at least till I can find a new location.

For You Card Set

I have lots of the Serendipity paper left, and I don't think I will be using it up anytime soon.
I just love this blog and how she is always using clothespins.

paint chips and note pads

I had a really great day yesterday,
we had an electrician at our house and while he was here, he installed 4 new lights in my craft room. Who knew I was working in the dark? I can't believe that I have been using such poor light for so long. Yeah for Lights!

I had been considering repainting my bathroom recently, and had these paint chips laying on the counter. I was holding the over the trash can about to toss them, when I thought I might could use them on a card.
Instead I recycled them into post a note holders.

Make a Wish...

I had the hardest time with this color combo. I think it was the green, just too bold for me. The 1st card I made just might have been the worst card I have ever made. I once read on Kathi's Blog about "card surgery" and I gave the 1st card a reconstructive surgery and came up with this.
Be sure to go by Jeanette Lynton's Blog and check out all of her artwork for Color me Monday.

Gum Treats & a template to use!

I saw this post a few weeks ago, and when I was at the store I picked up some gum to give it a try. I was surprised at how much this gum cost when you break it down and decided to cut them in half to save cost. (I plan on doing this at my next open house and I need the project to be affordable) Now I didn't shop around for the gum, so there may be better pricing out there. (I am thinking Sam's or the Dollar Tree).
I created a quick template, and it's here for you to use on your own project!
Just click the template to make it larger. If you have any trouble saving or printing it email me and I will reply with an attachment. (remember I am out of town, so I will email next week)

Auto-bots, Lets Roll!

I remember my little cousins saying that when we were younger. Transformers is not a new thing to lots of us. I also remember there was a cartoon as well with a catchy theme song!

A group of us are getting together to go see the new Transformers movie. I thought it would be fun to bring everyone a "transformer snack". I don't have any robot or transformer stamps, but I did have these gears from the CTMH Tinkerin Line.

And just in case you are wondering, Peanut butter-Strawberry M&M's are yummy!

I am really enjoying my summer, it seems to be going by really quickly. I have visited a couple of friends, been to see family and just hanging out at home.
