Take a close look at both of these cards, even thought they are both completely different they are the very same pattern. When you work with a pattern, never be afraid to rotate the pattern to fit what you need.
This pattern comes from the CTMH Make it From Your Heart V. 2 book and good news! YOU can win a copy by leaving a comment on this blog post- details below!
This pattern is also in the book! Like I said the later How To books are combos of cards and scrapbook!
Take a look at my leaves, I used a sponge technique to stamp them on Kraft Cardstock. I love the look of ink on kraft paper, it gives a very rustic look. Later this week I will have directions on how to create these leaves.

Aaron, I agree! I have ALL of the CTMH pattern books. I almost always use some sort of sketch or Pinterest for inspiration when I am creating. I love how I can look through the CTMH pattern books to find pages that will work with the pictures I want to use for a layout.
I love your Sangria paper layout withe the leaves. I think I will have to try creating it when my paper arrives. :)
Please don't include my comment in your drawing. I've already got the prize and it would be great for someone else to win it and see how wonderful they are.
Those leaves are gorgeous! Looking forward to your post on how you created them.
I prefer a pattern and ctmh paper packets since it all coordinates.
But I love to follow talented consultants like you Aaron who have an eye for colors & details to make the final project polished.
Please do not include my comment in drawing also as would like another person to win too.
Beautiful ideas. I would love to have this pattern book.
I find ideas on pinterest
I love having patterns as a backup. Sometimes I wing it but there are times I will draw a blank. I'll visit Pinterest or favorite blogs for inspiration.
I could not make anything without the ideas in the idea books. I don't find myself the least bit creative, but when I use ideas from other sources, I feel like I can make something that isn't a total mess. I love your fall leaves!
