Cookie Sheet

Can you believe this is a cookie sheet? I have been working on these for a while, they sell well at the craft fair. The best part is the magnetic memo pad, I just use one of those sticky backs for a business card to make it magnetic.

Saturday, March 29, 2008

I can't remember if I posted this already!! This card is using one of my favorite color combos, cranberry, sweetleaf and cocoa.
Please not that I cut out all of these pieces!!! I am so not a cutter, so it took time and patients for me!!

Pink Pail

I found these cute little pails at Michael's last week (I think they may be a seasonal item for spring/Easter, but I hope not!) and bought 4 of them. They are about 1/2 the size of a regular paint can.
I am doing a craft fair in 2 weeks, so I will be selling them with 6 cards and a pen inside.

3x3 Card holder directions

Here are the supplies you need. This picture shows 3 business size envelopes, but you only need 2 for this size project

Start with cardstock 4 1/2" x 10 3/4". Score at 3 3/4", 4 "and 8 1/2".

Now you need to seal up your envelopes. (picture shows 3, but you only need 2 for this project.)

Score both envelopes at 4 3/4"

No cut off 1" from each end of the two envelopes. This will create 4 "pockets".

Here is where it gets a little tricky. Line the fold of the 2 envelopes with the back score mark on your cardstock. Remember the flap portion of the cardstock should be at the top. Here is a close up view. Below you will find a wide view showing the flap at the top.

Using the pivot point stapler (see the picture above for positioning) staple the envelopes to the card. If you don't have the stapler, this is a great reason to get. It can do wonderful things

Repeat the staple process on the other side.

Now you need to make the accordion holder. Using the super sticky double sided tape, put a small strip in the middle and to the bottom of each of the envelopes (front side) You will also need one strip on the back of the last envelope to hold it to the cardstock.

Here is what the finished project looks like.

Lastly add magnets to the flap and the base for closure. I really like these super thin ones, and they are very strong. Decorate and fill with 3 x 3 cards. (I would not try to put more than 8 cards at a time in it)

3x3 cards and Holder

Look for this to be one of my classes in May. I will have the step by step directions for the holder later today.

Gift Bag

Here is a great idea for your favorite golfer. I just used a white lunch sack. It looks really crooked, but I did cut straight. The sack wham per-jawed when I opened it up. I went through about 10 sacks trying to find the straightest one.

Western Thank you

This one reminds me of a western shirt, maybe it's the blue and red. I really like how the sanding gives the illusion of being ink or paint. This is my new favorite embossing folder now.

A fairy card

A few weeks ago I was on Sparkle's blog, and made a guess about this card. Well I won her contest. She was so sweet and sent me the card and some images of this cute little fairy.
Here is what I created with them.
I found the paper in my scrap pile, so I have no clue where it came from.
Happy Easter everyone!

happy EASTER

My sewing skills are seriously lacking, so I purposely made messy sewing on this card (you should have seen the back, I think there might be something wrong with the machine!) The egg and the words are from the March Word Puzzle stamp set.

Easter on Twill

This is my favorite of all the Easter cards that I made. I
used twill for the main image, and I frayed the edges. I think it turned out really nice.

Wild Wednesday

Ok, I think I am back on track.

The random stamps I picked were From Me To You and Kid Power.

The random color was Petal. Added colors Smokey Plum and Bamboo.

(a side note, Petal is not in the color combo guide so I used Plum Mist a retired color)

I used the Blending pen on the inside of the flower petals, but I think I may need a lesson.

Wild Wednesday may be getting harder, I am cleaning out my stamp sets to make room for new ones when the new CTMH catalog comes out.

Celebrate Easter

At first I found the images from Thoughts of You hard to use, but I am beginning to enjoy them very much. And this is a sneak peek at the May Stamp of the Month, it is a great set with tons of wonderful words on it.

Pez Jar

My sister sent this to me for Easter. She loaded this jar up with Pez candy for me, it's my favorite, and decorated it. She was even nice enough to remove all the orange Pez candies( because I am allergic to oranges)

She got the cute little jar at World Market, and now that the Pez are all gone it's holding some buttons. I just love that store, and lucky for me one is opening up here this week!! Yeah!!

Easter Bunny Gift Card Holder

This darling idea comes from Laurie Norris. She was creative and came up with idea to use the petals of the large flowers for ears, and waxy flax for the whiskers.

This one has a gift card for music in it, but I made some to give to a couple of kids I know with McDonald's money in it.

Easter Treat Box

Ok, I have to thank Andrea Walford for this wonderful idea. You can find her original plan here.

Below you will see the slight changes that I made. 1st I changed the measurements just a bit so the box would be thicker. 2nd I was having a heck of a time scoring a circle, so I adjust to fit a square, and then used a plate to trace a circle. After that I made it just as she did.

The best thing about the Internet and blogging, is there are tons of crafters out there willing to share their ideas and templates. Be sure to Thank them, because it is lots of work to come up with and idea and make great directions for them.

Wild Wednesday

This one is just about as plain as you can get. Things have been crazy around here this week, so I just had a short amount of time to get this one done.

In all the craziness I forgot to add more colors to the random choice. So Blush is the only color.

Random Stamps Thoughts of You and Alfresco.

I have to say when I picked Alfresco I was really excited, because I had seen this card over at Nicole Headly's blog and wanted to give it a try. I was not so thrilled about Thoughts of you, because they just don't go, but then I cut the words up and it worked out great!!

Get out your stamps and give these two sets a try! Post a link in the comments for me to see.

PS. Nicole provided a great template if you want the pattern.

Mini Pull Treat

This is a candy slider, just like the one from Valentine's Day, but I adjusted the measurements for the smaller snack size candy.

Here is a link to the directions (for the large size) if you need it again. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/pull_treats

St. Patrick's Day Card

I must have made this last year, because I found it in my stash. Colors are Topiary and Bamboo.

Rub-ons

Here is a great idea for a gift. It takes just a little paper, and it's an awesome way to show off those rub-ons.
I covered all the chocolate candies with paper and added a 3-D flower to the top. ( the picture really washes out the bamboo color but that what it is)

I sent the yellow one in for a contest, so we will see.
(the colors are Buttercup and Ponderosa Pine)

Wild Wednesday

Well, this has been harder than I thought. I ended up cheating this time (It's my thing and I can cheat if I want!!LOL!!)
Random Stamps-Solo 2 and Adorable Backgrounds. Random Color-Garnet added colors Blush & Sweetleaf.
So after I stamped it, I tried to add Sweet leaf, but it just didn't work.
Then the card was too plain, so I added the "Happy Anniversary"
saying.
Maybe I will have better luck next week.

it was_____lbs!!

This card is for a co-worker's birthday. I didn't put Happy Birthday on it, thinking he might re-use it, but who am I kidding!! He's just a college kid, so I'm sure it will get tossed it the trash once he removes the gift card.
Check back tomorrow for Wild Wednesday, as you will see this challenge is harder than I thought.

Sculpting Foam Directions

Here are the supplies that you need. The white sheet is the backing to stickers or you can use transparency. Anything that will release the sculpting foam well.Get a small amount of foam and role it into a ball. Then place it on the release sheet. I then spay the block with the stamp cleaner to help the foam release from the block, you can also use baby powder if you like the foam more dry.
Press the foam with the block firmly.

Then I use the brayer to roll the foam out as thin or as thick as I need. (adding a little cleaner to the brayer helps too)

Once again I use the cleaner for release on the stamp.

Press the stamp firmly into the sculpting foam. If you mess up start over!!
At this point I let the foam dry just awhile, about 5 minutes. To the point of it's still some what wet, but more dry. (Is that clear as mud?). I then use a metal edge (you could use a knife too) to cut the foam into a square. Be sure to use the grid on the mat to line it up so the square is strait. (or it will look like this one in the picture the is lop-sided.)

After it dries add ink to the raised edges. Be careful it can tear when it is dry. I like to glue mine down with regular adhesive, but you could use glue dots if you are worried about tearing it.

So the Correct answer is....

Howdy

March has finally made it!! I think February was the longest month ever, it seemed to drag on and on. One of my new favorite things is Textured Cardstock and this card has Desert Sand Textured Cardstock on it!! I only have 1 sheet of it, so I am using it sparingly.
Want to win this card?
Take a guess by posting a comment how I did the star, and I will do a random drawing for the winner!! you must post by midnight tonight (central time)
Have a good weekend!
