It's a boy..

The wind has been blowing so hard this morning that it woke me up at 4:30 am. I tried to go back to sleep, but instead I got up showered, dressed and just waiting to go to work.
Here is a simple card using desert sand and twilight-these stars will work for just about anything. Baby, Birthday, Thank you or just whatever.
Oh and if you are wondering Dixie is still in bed, deep under the covers. I guess the wind is not bothering her!

Brown, Green & Orange

It is always hard for me to make a card that is "Manly". I love flowers, and they just don't work on a man's card. Here's a little birthday card using manly colors, and ribbon.

Is ribbon "Manly"?

Yard

For those of you who have been to my house, you know we have a very nice yard. Perfect trees, gorgeous flowers, and a yard that looks like a golf green. This is what it looks like tonight. What I have been referring to as "THE BIG SMELLY HOLE". Plus a new lawn statue, aka, backhoe. We needed some of the plumbing replaced (yep, the smelly part) and they have made a huge hole, and giant mountains of dirt in my most beautiful yard. I can't hardly stand it, but its better than the alternative (I will spare you the details). Good thing Charlie owns a landscape company, it will all be put back together soon.
PS-please pray that Dixie doesn't fall in the "BIG SMELLY HOLE" because I don't know if I would go in to save her~~

Good Luck

This card was created for Papercraft's Joy of Cardmaking. There was a pattern and color guidelines. Purple and silver/grey. It's a tiny little card 3x3.5.

Birthday x2

This cute little box came from Hobby Lobby, it's to hold a gift card. I removed the plastic insert, and replaced it with $$$$$. 53 bucks to be exact. I got $5o.00 worth of $5's, but that was not enough to fill it up, so I added 3 $1's.
And #2, how about a card that matches the wrapping paper? I used a leftover scrap of this pink stripe wrapping paper to make this card. The cake and happy birthday stamp is one of may all time favorite. It comes from the set "Holiday Jubilee". The very 1st CTMH stamp set I bought before I was even a consultant. (way back in 2005) It must be popular, it is still in the catalog today~

Rolodex and Card

This is a Birthday Gift for someone. She requested a Black and White Rolodex like the one's I did for a class the first of this month. I also made this card with a few of the scraps left over. The flowers are popped up with foam squares, and there is a colonial white button with colonial white ribbon inside.

This Rolodex is just like the one I taught as a class, just different paper. I like the way the same project can look completely different by just changing the paper.
If you would like to see the other one her is a link to My websitehttp://kaaronbrown.myctmh.com/WebSites/Templates/MyCTMH/Template1.aspx?PageID=53&HighlightID=244707

Rain Boot

I read way to many blogs, and one of my favorites is Nicole Heady. I find all of here ideas great, and love her designs. Nicole (I say that as if I know her!!) has her own line of stamps. Now I love CTMH, and I don't use much out side of CTMH, but I just love the design of these stamps. After Christmas I bought myself 3 of her stamps, and this rain boot is one of them.

I just love this, boot and flowers, I wish I had made the leaves a bit darker, but still love it.

One of the other stamps I bought is my favorite. I will post some of that around Valentines Day.

The paper her is from "Cocoa Cafe" and old CTMH special (I have been hording it for awhile)

Flower Child

Well this stamp set "Flower Child" was a new set that I bought thinking "I will never use that" but the "flower lover" in me liked it. I didn't have much to do today, so I pulled it out and made myself use it. I think I love the yellow card the best, but it must be because I am so ready for summer. (Don't tell Charlie, because I am always stressing to him the importance of winter in the cycle of trees, grass, and flowers). So on this 1st card I used the cuttlebug for the black background, red pattern paper from the CTMH "Everlasting" and a combo of markers and colored pencils for the little ladybug. I also used a drop of liquid glass on the dots.

I had a heck of a time getting the pictures today, the wind is blowing a 40 miles per hour. I have about 10 pictures of the cards blowing over. lol!!

For this 2nd card I used all color pencils on the flower child image. I used the ones from CTMH, but I think any kind will match since the CTMH ones are not true to color (or at least for me anyways) I also added prisma glitter on the edges of the petals. I really liked how that turned out, it looks better in person.

And my favorite one, Buttercup is the color. I used a combo of markers and pencils again. It's just a real happy card.

Friendship

This is a quick and simple idea for a Birthday gift, or a gift for just whatever. It's called a bag topper, and the bag can be filled with candy, note pads, make-up or whatever you like. I made this one using a twig from the yard and some punched out leaves. Next time you need a quick gift try putting it in a bag with a topper.

Happy New Year!!

It's official-2008 is here. Here is a fun card to start off the new year. I used a brad covered with a glue dot for the center of the flower. I then dipped the brad in the micro beads. The "Happy New Year" stamp is from the new January Word Puzzle set! Well I am off to make Black-eyed peas and cornbread. It's a big day here-GATOR BOWL. Go Red Raiders.
