Enjoy Sweet Ginger-Nut Treats

 All month long is Buy 2 get 1 FREE Stamps from Close to My Heart, so this month I am going to show you some projects using 2 stamps (maybe even 3). To start off I made some really yummy Ginger-Nut cookies and decide to package up a few to take to a friend. I had some CD envelopes in my stash and thought they would be so cute and would show off the yummy cookies. For the 2 stamps I used Enjoy and Sweet Moments. Both of these are C size stamps, so if you order both of these you could get a C,B or A stamp for FREE!

Project Live 2012: Week 20 & 21

 My life has become very busy, not uncommon in the landscape/Irrigation business. That means for the past 2 weeks I haven't done very good at taking pictures. I did get a few and I went ahead and added them to the page along with the journaling cards. When I have more time I will come back and update the page with some embellishments etc. Right now I feel like it might be October before I have any spare time, but I am sure once June and July pass I will be more relaxed.

Book Review: The Language of Flowers

I really enjoyed this book, as some who is around flowers daily it was very interesting to learn about the meanings of flowers. This is the story of a young girl who has been in the foster care system her whole life, and she has issues with just about everyone and every situation. One of her foster mothers teaches her about flowers and their meanings. As she ages out of the system she finds herself homeless and jobless. She struggles with this, but finds a job in a flower shop. She helps other with her skills using the flowers meaning. Because of her past she has issues letting other people love and help her. In the end she learns to love and returns to the foster mother to live a wonderful life.

This card was inspired by a card by Dawn McVey, when I saw the card I knew that I wanted to recreate it because of the layered butterflies.  One of the great images that the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge cuts out are butterflies. Nesting butterflies are great!
