Love You in multi colors

One last card for this week using the Color Ready Seam Binding. For this one I used the technique featured in the video(see Wednesday's post for the video tutorial) using the sponge daubers--colors-grey wool, creme brulee and cotton candy.
I {heart} the grey wool color, it looks almost sliver!!

Just Chillin'

Remember yesterday I said to get some of this great Color Ready Seam Binding-I used more of the ribbon I colored Cotton Candy to add a strip down the center of this card. I then added some Bakers Twine over the top of that. ( That puffy silver flower is retired now, but we have some smaller versions here.)
How is the weather where you are-it is HOT, HOT, HOT here!!!

{i adore you}

It's time again to show you a project with 2 stamps. For this card I used the Adore and Just for You stamp sets. The just for you stamp set might me hard to tell where I used it--it's the scallop just to the right of the ribbon.(I used the decorative petals from the flower to make a scallop boarder.) Speaking of ribbon, did you notice that bright pink ribbon? That is the Color Ready Seam Binding! What does color ready mean? Just that I used my ink pad directly on the ribbon to turn it Cotton Candy. Now one last thing, did you notice that the heart is sticking out? I used one of the great springs from CTMH to pop it up, now the recipient will get a little surprise when they open this card. {Lace on this card is from my stash: no source} Head over to my website and start shopping, remember it's Stampaganza so buy 2 stamps and get one FREE and don't forget to add some of this seam binding ribbon, I will be using it on my cards fro the rest of the week. WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW-LEARN HOW TO USE THIS GREAT PRODUCT!!

Project Life 2012: Week 24 and 25

To start out, week 24 was a challenge!! I had to use the back side of the week before's page and that was 6x6 slots. I decided for this time I would use a whole sheet from the Project Life cardstock. I cut it to 6x6 squares and put it inside. In the end it worked out fine because I only had 3 pictures from that week. I also wanted to point out that I love letter stickers for the project life album, but I ran out of the number 2....in every set I had. So I bet you are wondering where the 2 came from? I adjusted a Z to make it look like a 2!!

Since I was out of 2, I used the word two for this title page. These are some chipboard accents that come from CTMH.

DIY Glass Pendant

I am sure by now you all know that I love Diana Gabaldon's Outlander's Series, in fact I love the books so much that I have become obsessed with all things related to Scotland. Most recently the new Disney Movie Brave! You can see a preview here.
I promised the next door neighbor kids that I would take them to see the movie (kinda like my excuse to go!) I decided I wanted to give the girls a charm necklace to wear and keep after the movie! I went in seach of a book to use and I found a copy of Brave at Target! I also thought it would be a good idea to have a grown up necklace as well. When I started think on what pictures I remembered my Outlander Companion book-it is FULL of great pictures related to the series and Scotland.
Before I move on I want to mention that you should NOT make copies of any of the images without permission. I chose to cut up the books that I have, but if you don't want to do that you can also check over at Etsy.com. Search digital images for all sorts of images you can cut up and use as you please.

You will need the following items:
Alenie's Paper Glaze
E-6000 adhesive
craft knife and mat
chain
jewelery findings (sun and moon crafts on etsy)
image
Before I move on I want to mention that you should NOT make copies of any of the images without permission. I chose to cut up the books that I have, but if you don't want to do that you can also check over at Etsy.com. Search digital images for all sorts of images you can cut up and use as you please.

To start off I used the glass tile to decide what image I thought would look good as a pendant. After I found what I wanted I used a craft knife to trim it out. ( I used the craft mat between the pages so I only cut what I wanted) * Cut a slightly larger piece of image than your tile.
Next up I used the Paper glaze to attach the image to the glass charm. (Use a piece of wax paper to protect your work surface)
* Note* you can not use photo paper for this project. The ink doesn't soak into photo paper and it reacts with the paper glaze. If you wish to use a family or pet photo print it on plain white cardstock.
Add a small drop of paper glaze to the glass tile, turn it over on the image and move it around until the entire glass tile is covered with glaze. Place the glass tile over the portion of the image you wish to use.
Let this dry for a couple of hours.
My images came from the Outlander Companion by Diana Gabaldon, Brave(Disney Pixar) and 1969 Webster's Elementary Dictionary

Next up use the craft knife to cut away the extra image. Cut as close to the tile as you can making sure no paper over hangs.
Turn the tile over and cover the back in paper glaze making sure to get all the way to the edge. If it runs over use a q-tip to clean up the excess.  Paper glaze is self leveling. If you have any air bubbles use a strait pin to get rid of them. Let this dry for at least 12-15 hours and don't touch or move them. I like to do at at night before I head to bed, that way they don't get moved and I don't have the urge to touch them-I am very impatient when it comes to waiting for things to dry.
Next up use a small amount of E-6000 to attach the bails to the back of the glass pendant. Let this dry for at least 12 hrs.And add a chain, mine are 20" long, but feel free to make yours any size.

How would you like to win the Stag pendant? Outlander Kitchen is giving this one away! Head over there and enter to win and while you are there look around, there are some great recipes. I know because I have tried lots of them!!

A Manly Thank You!

Coming up with manly cards is always a challenge for me. It sure does make it easy with CTMH papers! I used the Victory paper pack for this card. I also added a strip of burlap for texture-very manly!!

Book Review: The Great Gatsby

I know that I read this in High School, but of course I was forced to read it then and didn't really remember much about it. I had heard that a new movie was in the making and I like to read the books before they are movies, so I read this one again. Even though this story is about Jay Gatsby, to me it is more the story of Nick. Nick is telling the story and I feel that we know him much better than the great Gatsby. Without giving too much away Nick lives next door to Gatsby who has huge parties and live a very expensive life style. Gatsby has his eye on a certain girl from his past, but she seems to have moved on and forgotten him. Gatsby's whole goal is to show her that he is rich and worthy of her coming back to him.
The book at times was, for a lack of a better explanation,  vague. Sometimes the characters would say or do strange things for no reason. The story jumped around alot and at some points would just end.
I am very glad that I read it again, because it's a wonderful story. Below is the movie trailer that looks really good to me and I just love the music.

CD Case Birthday Treat

Today I want to show you a project using two different stamps to give you an idea for the current CTMH Special Stampaganza--Buy 2 stamps and get 1 FREE!! Here you can see that I used an empty CD case and backed it with pattern paper. I then found some cute gummy scotty dog candy and added them to the inside.
I created a band around the CD case and added a paper medallion with the sweet little dog stamp on it. I used some older lace trim with a thin strip of cardstock to finish it off. Lastly I stamp a sentiment from the Just a Number Set

I don't forget Birthdays very often, but every now and then one slips by me :(. It happened last week so I quickly made this belated birthday cards. I used the great flower stamp from the Lucy WOTG and some of the great shimmer brads. The best part is that I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut out the flowers and the stamps match PERFECT!!

Soft Pinks and Greys

I LOVE 3x3 cards, in fact I have several of them on display in my craft room. I love them so much because they are a great way to use up the last bits of paper and they are so great to stick in a little gift. This one uses the Bitty Buds Assortment and a great stamp featuring a cameo called Sweet Moments.

Treasure Jars

I came across these small jars a few weeks ago and brought home 3. At the time I wasn't real sure what I would do with them, but couldn't pass them up. I decided to add some of the new glitter rub-ons from CTMH on them. They went on like a breeze!! I am going to put buttons in mine, but  I think these would be really cute in a little girls room to hold hair ties and ribbons!

Flower Card

Can you believe those flowers are wooden? Wooden die cuts are all the rage and the reasons why sure show. Look at all that detail, the small flowers are so finely cut you have to be careful when handling them. Here is a tip-after you apply ink use the heat gun to give them a quick dry. The wood doesn't absorb the ink very fast so you want them to try before you try and glue them down. Color Ready Garden Wood Shapes
