Book Review: The Scottish Prisoner
In keeping with the plan of reading everything my favorite author has written, I read The Scottish Prisoner. This great novel is about Lord John and Jamie Fraser--Jamie is a paroled Jacobite prisoner living and work at a farm in Helwater he is deeply troubled by dreams of his lost wife, then by the appearance of a former comrade from the Rising who still lives and breathes for the Cause. Jamie has sworn off politics, fighting, and war. Until Lord John Grey shows up with a summons that will take him away to help with his own plans. Lord John Grey takes Jamie to Ireland to help translate and right into trouble. This book show just how Jamie and John start to become friends despite their very strong dislike for each other. It also shows just how much respect they have for one another. Lord John grows by leaps and bounds in this book and proves more why I find him so interesting. The book also gives a more clear view of just how hard it was for Jamie while Claire was away for 20 years.
OMG Aaron, I love the Outlander series and Diana Gabaldon! A girl after my own heart! Great review!!
