Welcome to our Close to my Heart Summer 2009 Idea Book Blog Hop! Over 40 Close to my Heart Consultants are celebrating the upcoming release of the Summer 2009 Idea Book by sharing their amazing creations using new products via their blogs.
If you want to start at the beginning of the blog hop, go on over to Erin's Blog and follow all of the links to see some amazing work form her and all of the other talented consultants!
These felt flowers come from the new CTMH Heart Felt Whimsy Die Cuts. In addition to flowers, there are birds, dragonflies, butterflies, buttons, swirls and much much more!
They are so simple to use. You can easily run them trough your sewing machine or just use a needle and thread. In addition they are even easier to attach with brads or conchos.
I will tell you that I didn't have much luck with adhesive or glue dots, but I have been told that there is a felt glue on the market! It is just too easy to use thread or brads to worry to much about glue! I also wanted to tell you about my 2 new favorite things. 1. Sewing-I got the Janome Sew Mini and I love it! It sews like a dream on fabric and paper! 2. Envelope flats-CTMH has a wonderful selection of all different sizes and the best part-you can stamp the inside of you envelope to match your project! How cool is that!
Here is a supply list for this project-
White Daisy CS, Garden Green CS, Buttercup CS, Tulip CS, Olive ribbon, Heart Felt die cuts, Tulip brads, Buttercup concho, foam squares, garden green ink, tulip ink, buttercup ink, Tulip CS, Floral charm stamp set, tickled pink stamp set, serendipity stamp set, envelope flats, white buttons
Other-Pen, green thread, canvas bag

Color Chef Challenge #4
This is my card for this week's Color Chef Challenge over at KJ's Stamp Pad. The colors to use were Black, Watermelon, Bubblegum, Baby Pink and White Daisy. When I started out making this card I had this idea that I wanted my random stamped images to be glossy, and I would use versamark and ink together. I think in the end it altered the color just a bit, especially the watermelon. I think I will read up on this technique just a bit and see what I was doing wrong.
I also used a clear acrylic flower in the center of the knot that doesn't show up all the well in the picture.
Supplies from CTMH-Black CS, White Daisy CS, Baby Pink CS, Bubblegum CS, Black ink, Bubblegum ink, Watermelon ink, Baby pink ink, Black staz on ink, Clear acrylic flower, black brads, corner rounder Floral charm stamp set, Friendship blessing stamp set
Other-Black ribbon, clear embossing powder, crop-0-dile
I also wanted to take a quick second to tell you about something very exciting starting onThursday and Friday. Of course the release of the new Summer 2009 Close to my Heart Catalog on Friday Morning, but in addition the 1st ever CTMH Blog Hop!! A really sweet consultant Erin Burney has organized the whole thing and the fun will start at Midnight(Pacific Time) on Thursday and will feature all new projects for you to see using all new products from the new Catalog. I will have a really cute project posted for the event. (Of course no matter how hard I try, I wont be able to stay awake till midnight, but I will catch all the fun on Friday morning!)
What is a Blog Hop? Over 40 consultants will have their blogs linked together, and all you have to do is "hop" from one blog to the next. At the end of each of the post you will be given a link to go to the next blog.
All the fun will start at Erin's Blog and go from there.
Not to worry I will give you directions on where to start or where to go to next! It's going to be so much fun!

April Operation Smile Project
I really had fun with this months Operation Smile project! It's no secret that the CTMH Originals book is my most prized possession! In the book there are many patterns for 4.75x3" cards. I just love this size; not to big and not to small. This box holds 4.75x3" card. After I created it, it reminded me of a box like checks come in. So I am calling it a Mini Check Box
The template for this project can be found at http://www.kabrown63.etsy.com/
for a $1.00 donation to Operation Smile!
The box is a really great size and very simple to make.

Color Chef Challenge#1 and Photography
A new CTMH color challenge has been started over at KJ' Stamp Pad. This is the 1st round. Here is my card. I used white daisy ink on the edges and then heated it with the craft gun to dry. I love the white daisy ink, but always forget to use it.
Supplies from CTMH-Sweetleaf CS, Crystal Blue CS, Sweatleaf ribbon, White Daisy paper flower, Sweetleaf brad, White Daisy ink, Crystal blue ink, Say it with style stamp set.
Over the weekend I had a few chicks and a bunny and decided to set up a photo shoot for a few friends and family. These are some of my favorites! One day it was very windy and the next day it was cold but we went ahead with the shoot. Here in Lubbock, a calm day still blows about 2o miles per hour so we are all use to it.
I am still working on my photography skills, but I had a lot of fun doing it!
