Magnet Boards

I discovered the directions to make these magnet board. Sheets of galvanized steel bent at the correct angle and covered with paper. The directions I have said that Home Depot would cut this to any size I needed. Wrong. They suggested I buy a pair of tin snips. Good thing I know a couple of welders, just gave Lonnie a call and he kindly cut them down for me. He was also nice enough to bend them too!!! I whip through these 4 in no time at all. I gave Lonnie another call to ask about more cutting and bending.

This is how the conversation went (no names have been changed to protect the Innocent)

Aaron: Hey Lonnie, you cut and bent that sheet of metal just perfect. I was wondering if I could get you to do me 2 or 3 more?
Lonnie: Hundred? Hell No!!!
Aaron : No sheets?
Lonnie: I guess my cell phone cut out, sure I will come by and get them.
Aaron: Thanks, maybe we can be on one of those commercials for drop calls!! hee hee hee
Lonnie: Huh?
So check back soon for the others.

Give Thanks

It still doesn't seem like fall yet, but I am working my way to it. I love the colors of fall and Autumn Terracotta is one of my favorite.
I made this card today, copied it from the catalog on page 57. I loved that card every time I passed it. The background is a new technique called "color washing". It uses clear glaze and re-inkers. For more information check out the "stamp goddess" link to the left. She has a great slide show with step by step instructions. This may be my Thanksgiving card, so some of you may see it again.

Calendar project

I was asked by a friend to make a birthday gift for a friend of hers. Here is a calendar picked up at the office supply store and re-covered. Just pull the spirals apart, remove the cover and alter. Getting it back on can be a pain sometimes, this time not to bad though. I used Friendship blessing stamp set (one of my all time favorites) and Cocoa Cafe paper-also one of my favorite(using it sparingly because I can't get anymore) Oh yeah, and rhinestone flowers.

Comments

I fixed it where you don't have to have a google account to leave a comment. just choose other and put a name and website(just make something up, like sldfjsldfl.net ). So comment away!

Protecting Sams....

Look what is protecting the Sam's in Lubbock--

people are lining up to sacrifice to the God of Sams.

Puppy Love....

Dixie is going to have a play date this weekend...with a boy dog!!! This is to send afterwards. I used my new toy, the cuttlebug to make the embossing on the pink paper. Don't be surprised if you see it on everything for a while.

Can you tell how excited Dixie is!!

One more, using creative clip-just glued paper to the top, give them a try.

Charlie's Birthday

Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy Birthday Charlie, Happy birthday to you!

Here is the ice cream cake I got for Charlie for his birthday, and the golf card I made for him. (Last year I bought him a card, and he was disappointed that I didn't make him one. I didn't think he cared one way or the other)

Craft Fair

The craft fair was great. It started out raining, and I was a little worried, but the sun did come out. Then it was just too hot! Lots of people said it was great stuff, that makes me happy. Here are a few pics of the set up.

One more for today....

Well I must say that I am having a great time with this blog...

CTMH is giving a tip of the day all this month, one of the tips was about Flocking. A question from Marva--what is Flock? Well I made her a card, hope you can tell. Glue pen and white flock on the flowers.

"Hi!" Card

I got this little package of lint removers with my AC filter free. When I saw it I thought what a cute card that would make. I just used scraps and "punches" from SU. I used the word "Hi" from the "for every occasion" stamp.

On a side note--Why do I need lint removers with my AC filter???

"Celebrate" Card

This card I made late last night, couldn't sleep. I used the new stamp set Memory Labels. Bought it, but hadn't used it yet. I also used Alfresco Stamp set, Honey TCS, Free Spirit B&T, Chocolate waxy flax, brown chalk, chocolate ink, pewter brads and foam squares. Enjoy!

Cards 5&6

Card 5--

On Sat. I went out mid-morning to water all the plants on the back patio--my thought was how nice it would be to stay out here in the warm sun and relax. Then reality set in--laundry and a customer coming over for help--No time to bask in the sun.

Card 6--

Today I was thinking how lucky I am to have the day off Monday!!
