Close to My Heart sales a package of 3 muslin bags! I keep thinking of all the other holidays I could use them for and stencel a simple image on them. Shamrocks for St. Pat's day, Bats for Halloween, Eggs for Easter, Trees for Christmas.......the list goes on and on!

Project Life 2014: Week 3 & Week 4

 Here is my week 3. I decided to go with pink, to pull out the colors of my artwork. Back in November I bought a count down to Christmas stamp set, it's just numbers from 1-25, but I knew it would be great for Project Life! This week I used the #3 in the set!

 Not much went on in our life for Week 4, I only had 3 pictures and one was a selfy. It did leave room for lots of embellishing!

Thanks for the Lift

Those of you who follow me on Facebook my know that my co-worker and friend recently lost her house to a fire. Luckily they have insurance and they will rebuild. I am trying to keep her supplied with Thank you notes. The world is still full of good people- since last week she and her husband have receive cash donations, stacks of gift cards and home cooked meals have been showing up regularly at their temporarily housing location.

Pin Inspired: Thank you card

This card was inspired by a card I pinned a very long time ago! I loved the "notebook" look of the card with the flowers. I also really liked the button element that I copied. You can see the inspiration card here on pinterest. 

Only You Heart Plaque

While cropping with friends this past weekend we made, as a group, this little heart plaque (it's about 5x5). We all did the same thing, but they all looked so different. This little guy looks so cute on my mantle.

Little One Mini Album

I spent the weekend cropping with friends- I made 3 of these little baby albums while there. Yes, I know 3 people who just had or about to have a baby! My favorite part of the cover is the twisty tie around the giraffe neck!

Always grateful

For this card my goal was to use a tool that I hand used in a while. The stipple brush. I wanted to added some light shading in the tree but be able to keep it confined to one area. My favorite part of this card is the little wood bird in the tree!

I looked the other day and I have Pinned 1095 ideas and projects over at Pinterest.... oh my I better get busy. I thought for this year I would do a Pinterest inspired post every week, or at least a couple of times a month. So this is my first card and I was inspired by this card from Pinterest.

Hello Babycakes

The babycakes paper pack was not one that was high on my list of favorites from the spring/summer collection, but the more I use it, the more I decide it's not all that bad. Here are a few 3x3 cards using the paper pack. The colors are very trendy with the grey and yellow.

Felt Heart Muslin Tags

This week I have been working on some special gifts for Valentine's Day and I wanted to make some tags for the sacks that could be used as decor as well. These tags are on heavy muslin that I covered with gesso- I then blanket stitched some heavy wool on them. I used some buttons from my great-grandmother's button jar for the flower centers.

Project Life 2014: Week 1 & 2

 One of my goals for this year is to show you more of my Project Life-it's the one thing I am very religious about doing. I don't like getting behind on it, so I make a point to work on it every week. So here is my Week 1. In the past I use to be such a purist, I would only use one kit for the whole year. This year one of my new year's resolutions is to Have FUN with PL.  Here is week 2. I had a letter that I wanted to keep so I have an insert this week to hold it.  I really like the title card for week 2. My plan is to really embelish the title cards this year-
