Oct. 31st

One of the things I wanted my customers to know about the glitter paper from CTMH is that if you don't have a cricut but you have punches it will work great for that too! I went to my punch collection and pulled out the most detailed punch I had. It happen to be this spiderweb boarder punch from Martha Stewart. It punched the CTMH glitter paper with no problem!

Book Review: Forsaking the Prize

Abducted at fourteen and sent away to sea, rough and ready sailor Tobias Randall endured exile and cruelty only to have his plans for revenge crumble. He may have made a terrible first impression upon his return to Romsey Abbey, but he has a plan to reclaim his place—he’ll marry quickly and marry a woman of wealth. Yet the perils of life at sea are nothing compared to the danger of attempting polite conversation with a proper lady.

…he reawakened her heart

Blythe, Lady Venables, may be revered as a faithful, proper widow, but a cruel misunderstanding has placed her sanity in doubt. Determined to clear her name, she forms an uneasy truce with the wildest Randall of all, Tobias—a man shamelessly willing to seduce her—to uncover the mystery plaguing Romsey Abbey. With doubts and fears against them, Tobias and Blythe each venture into uncharted territory – love and scandal.

I have to say that I think Tobias Randall is awesome. I haven't read book 3, but I think it's safe to say he is my favorite brother! His life was so hard, but he over came and he is such a sweet man. His attention to Blythe is so sweet and I love that her house staff is in the know that they will soon be together!
There were a lot of little things about the story I liked one especially was how she called him a pirate and he called her B. The plot was easy to follow and didn't take away from the romance of their blossoming relationship. I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. Tobias returns thinking of  revenge a but he becomes a staunch ally for the family, and for the lovely woman he begins to care for. Blythe learns that she does not have to live her life still in mourning for what she lost, and that she can find another to fill her life and her heart with love.

Hello

Look at that Glitter Paper! This card was by far my favorite, and oh so simple to make! I cut strips of CS and glitter paper and glued them randomly to a piece of copy paper. I then trimmed the ends off and ran the whole piece in my cricut to cut the hello! I finished it off with the last little bit of my zipper lace trim from CTMH.

This card and treat bag was for my Glitter Paper Technique Class- I wanted my customers to know just HOW WELL CTMH glitter paper cuts in the cricut. Look how perfect the cat and the pumpkin face came out!

Book Review: Engaging the Enemy

Every great family has a few secrets best left unspoken. The wild Randalls of Hampshire excel at them.

A duchess should be regal, aloof and the image of calm elegance. But those words have never applied to Mercy, Duchess of Romsey. A widow and mother of a young duke, Mercy is lonely and floundering to keep the estate afloat. When she discovers the existence of Leopold Randall, her husband's estranged cousin, Mercy commits to help him locate his missing siblings if he'll return the estate to order. Although cautioned against trusting a man who would inherit everything should her son die, she impetuously hands over the estate to Leopold's care in the hope of keeping him near.

Leopold Randall, heir to the young duke, has returned to Hampshire to demand information regarding the fate of his missing siblings. Unfortunately, the Duchess of Romsey is clueless about them, yet her struggle to maintain the estate tugs at Leopold's sense of duty. At her insistence, he steps in to bring order to chaos while searching for hints to his family's whereabouts amongst the old duke's papers. Yet the duchess tempts him in ways best unspoken. He fights to hide his weakness for her and a shameful past that could see him banished again. But when Leopold discovers a threat against the duchess and young duke's life, he must join forces with the temptress to protect his last known relative.

I want to start out by say I hate these kind of Images for the covers!!! This book was really well written and I am looking forward to reading the following books. But the cover image.... screams cheesy!! This book has just enough mystery to keep a reader entertained and the romance was super sweet.  The author gives enough background info so you feel like you know the characters. Leopold's love for Mercy is so sweet and he tries to hide, but not very well!!

Sweet As Honey

Last Friday I held a Glitter Paper Technique Class- I showed my customers all the great things they can do with glitter paper. One of my favorite things is that it cuts on the cricut like butter, my 2nd favorite thing is how the glitter paper takes on the colors of the paper and colors around it. This is not the best picture- but the brown glitter paper takes on the a pink hue and matches so well!

Book Review: Crazy Little Thing

Sadie Turner can organize just about anything — except her own life. When her cheating spouse topples Sadie’s impeccably tidy world, she packs up her kids for a summer vacation at her aunt’s lake house, hoping to relax, reboot, and formulate a new plan — one that does not include men.

Any men.

But eccentric Aunt Dody has other plans; she’s determined to see Sadie have a little fun—with Desmond, the sexy new neighbor. Tall, tanned, muscular—and even great with her kids, Desmond is Sadie’s worst nightmare. He must have a flaw—he’s a man, after all—so Sadie vows to keep her distance. But as summer blazes on, their attraction ignites, and the life Sadie is trying so hard to simplify only gets more complicated. But maybe a little chaos is just what she needs to get her future, and her dreams of love, back in order

I Laughed out Loud for most of this book- it's really a great read. Not to mention it was FREE in the Kindle lending Library.  I just loved the humor between the siblings and cousins- It reminded me of my family! I really do like these books where they go to the beach for the summer to escape the city! Sounds divine!
It was really a wonderful book and I encourage everyone to read it!

Book Review: Clan of the Cave Bear

A natural disaster leaves the young girl wandering alone in an unfamiliar and dangerous land until she is found by a woman of the Clan, people very different from her own kind. To them, blond, blue-eyed Ayla looks peculiar and ugly--she is one of the Others, those who have moved into their ancient homeland; but Iza cannot leave the girl to die and takes her with them. Iza and Creb, the old Mog-ur, grow to love her, and as Ayla learns the ways of the Clan and Iza’s way of healing, most come to accept her. But the brutal and proud youth who is destined to become their next leader sees her differences as a threat to his authority. He develops a deep and abiding hatred for the strange girl of the Others who lives in their midst, and is determined to get his revenge.

This book has been on my "short" list for awhile, and during a recent trip to the Friends of the Library sale I found a pretty tattered copy for 25cents.
This book was hard for me. The 1st 100+ pages I felt like I was reading the worlds longest list. They walked through forests and saw oak trees, pine trees, ash trees, elm trees, maple trees, flowering trees, yellow trees, green trees...... and then they would climb a hill and see 50 other trees and 100 of animals.
I would pick it up and read for 30 minutes and then put it down for days. I finally made myself finish it.
I will say that the story line is wonderful- I think Ayla is such a strong woman. I also really thought Iza was such a great character-her love for Ayla was a joy to read about.

The story kinda left a cliffhanger- someday I will read the next, but I am not in a huge hurry (I have been told the next ones are much better)

Book Review: Wild Montana Sky

A "sweet" romance set in 1893 Montana

With the tragic death of her fiancé, Elizabeth Hamilton believed she’d never love again. The comfortable life she’s settled into with her brother in Boston, is upset when he abruptly marries. Displaced by her spiteful new sister-in-law, and hoping to find a home for herself, Elizabeth allows handsome cowboy Nick Sanders to escort her from Boston to her friend’s Montana ranch.

In Montana, Elizabeth meets attractive Caleb Livingston, a wealthy banker who strongly resembles her beloved fiancé, and believes she has a second chance at love. Yet, she has to fight a growing attraction to Nick. In braving the dangers and hardships of the West, Elizabeth discovers unexpected strengths within herself--strengths tested when an influenza epidemic ravages the town. As a child’s life hangs in the balance, Elizabeth must choose between the man who has everything, and the one with nothing but his heart to offer
.

This was just as it says- a sweet Romance! Nick is one of those guys who is perfect, almost too good to be true. The whole book I kept wondering when Elizabeth would see it. Nicks final words in this book are enough to make any woman heart melt! This book has some really funny parts as well as heart wrenching parts too!
This was a good one and I highly recommend it! Best part of all it's a FREE book in the Kindle lending Library!

Party in my Trailer

The Lucy Trailer is officially finished!  One of my goals for the year was to finish the trailer. In order to do so and not put myself in debt meant that I had to skip the CTMH convention this year. I won't lie, not being at convention hurt- I was sad for a few days. I knew I would be sad so I thought a trailer party would make me forget that I wasn't there. The first party was a book exchange party- I invited all my friends that read (or that I knew liked to read). I asked everyone to bring a book and we did a kind of white elephant book trade. It worked out great, becasue everyone got a book they hadn't read!!

Can you see the dark skies in the back ground? My party was to start at 10:30---- at 9:30 the skies turned black and a storm rolled in! In this part of the country we don't wish away rain. I moved all the stuff inside, closed all the windows in the trailer and waited it out! I sent all the guest a text that we would delay for 30 minutes-- it turned out perfect and the weather was to die for!! ( Much better that the hot I was worried about!)
