Take a look at that button on the front of this mini composition book- I used washi tape to cover the button, a great way to make your buttons match your project perfectly.

One more card from my Washi tape class, showing that the washi tape can be stamped on! Any of the inks will work, but for the best image use Staz-on ink.

So Very Grateful Album
This is the first of MANY mini albums that I will be making the using the new Artbooking Cartridge! If you don't have- You should get it! I LOVE that CTMH has done all the hard work for me. If I want to make a mini album or Scrapbook Layout I just put my cricut dial on one size and ALL the measurements have been calculated for me--- AWESOME!

always grateful
Being in the landscape business I am instantly drawn to tree stamps. This new stamp, Always Grateful, from CTMH has several trees on it. I like to have a few of these tree cards on hand to thank customers or suppliers for using our company or for helping us out with something. These tree cards are also great for men!

Book Review: The Hawk
Handpicked by
Robert the Bruce to help him in his quest to free Scotland from English
rule, the elite warriors of the Highland Guard face their darkest days.
When Bruce is forced to flee, his bid for freedom rests on the shoulders
of one extraordinary warrior.
Erik MacSorley is a brilliant seafarer who has never encountered a wind he could not harness or a woman he could not win—until he drags a wet, half-naked “nursemaid” out of the waters off the Irish coast. Ellie’s ordinary appearance belies the truth: She is in fact Lady Elyne de Burgh, the spirited daughter of the most powerful noble in Ireland. Worse, this irresistible woman is determined to prove herself immune to Erik’s charms—a challenge he cannot resist.
Her captor may look every inch a rugged warrior, but Ellie vows that it will take more than a wickedly suggestive caress to impress her. Yet Erik will sweep away Ellie’s resistance with a desire that resonates deep within her heart. Still, he is a man driven by loyalty, and she is a woman with secrets that could jeopardize Bruce’s chance to reclaim his throne. As the battle for king and country sounds across the shores, will Ellie’s love be enough to finally tame the legend known as the Hawk?
This book had me up late at night and sneaking my Kindle to my office!! I couldn't put it down. Just like the 1st book in the the series The Chief. The Chief, The Hawk.... do you see a trend here? Ah, yes! It's the Highland Guard Series, and I will be reading them all, but at 8 bucks each I will have to spread them out some!!
I love the characters, especially Ellie. She's described as plain and ordinary, but she is far from that. Our hero, Erik, is described as handsome, beautiful and carefree, but he's much more than that. They are thrown together in a difficult situation, and I gotta say, the way Ellie doesn't put up with any of Erik's crud! I loved how we get to know them both just as they get to know each other, and realize what amazing people each of them are. The ending is so sweet and funny-- I like reading a book that has great humor in it!! Look for more reviews from this series!

A hodge podge of supplies
This card was one of the cards I used for my Washi Tape Technique Class this month! A favorite of all that I made showing how you can spell words using the Washi tape.
The title of this post is hodge podge, and that's because I used a lot of things from my stash. All CTMH but most the items are retired. Most of the time I look at a card and then put my own spin on it using the supplies I have, so I hope you can do that too!
Don't forget the deadline for the Halloween Stamp Camp is fast approaching- Please RSVP and Pay to hold your spot!

Gratitude
The minute I saw this tree stamp in the CTMH catalog I knew I wanted to make a card like this! I enjoy a great sunrise or sunset and that is one of the benefits to living in west Texas- we have GREAT sunrises and sunsets!
Happy Friday to all of you!!

today is a good day
One of things I am trying to branch out with is adding colors not found in the CTMH paper pack! The great Teresa Black over at Fabulously Artsy is great at doing this! I added a little bit of the Smoky Plum CS to this card that used the Huntington Paper Pack. Oh, and see that great bicycle? It's one of the journaling cards from the CTMH Crush line Memorabilia packs!!

Book Review: Guarding the Spoils
Again with the cheesy book cover..... such a great story, such a stupid cover!!
Elizabeth Turner once loved Oliver Randall, but was blind to his desire to travel without the encumbrance of a wife weighing him down. When she learned the truth, Beth settled for the security of a loveless marriage. Now a widow with a son to support, desperation has driven her into service at Romsey Abbey and directly into the path of the man she’d loved and lost.
Oliver has no intention of letting his dream of travel slip away again, even for a pretty face from his past. Since his return to the abbey, he’s planned a grand tour to the continent even while examining the astonishing emotional changes a decade apart from his brothers has wrought. The last thing Oliver wanted was stronger ties to the people living at Romsey. But then fate offers him both an affair and an unexpected friendship. Is it curiosity alone that stirs him, or the beginning of an unexpected adventure?
I adored watching Oliver and Elizabeth's relationship grow. These two offer so much to the other, but have such a hard time letting go . It takes them a while,( most of the book really) to figure out they are better together than apart. Best part was that they acted as a family before they even realized it!!
When Elizabeth's ass of a brother-in-law returns to town he causes a lot of problems for everyone.Even though Elizabeth and George are not family (yet) all of Oliver's brother's vow to protect them as if they are. The Wild Randall Series has me hooked and. I will be impatiently waiting the release of her next book. If you enjoy historical romancing with a big heaping of mystery thrown in I think you'll enjoy this book.
