Book Review: The Love Goddess' Cooking School
Great Book, only problem is that all the talk of Italian food made me very hungry! This is the story of Holly, who had come back to run her grandmothers cooking school. Holly's grandmother was also a forture teller, and would sale her fortunes as well as homemade pasta. Holly doesn't have the gift to tell fortunes, but she does know how to cook. Her 1st class of students is an interesting group of people of all ages. One student, Mia, is a 12 year old girl who has some drama in her life. Mia's sole purpose in taking the cooking class is to learn how to cook so she can get rid of her dad's girlfriend. Holly's cooking lessons help to get rid of the girlfriend, but Holly falls in love with Mia's dad in the process. The story has some interesting twist in it, and at the end of the book it has all the recipes for the dishes mentioned in the book.

Project Life: 2012/Week 6 & 7
Week - I really like the picture of Madonna from the Superbowl (FYI I took a picture of the TV) and wanted to focus on the gold color from that picture. I picked some orange cards for this week and added some black and pink to it. Below you can see that I stamped on the card using some CTMH stamps with a flourish and birds.
Her you can see I printed a picture of a foot ball and added it to my journaling card.
Week 7-I didn't feel so well the day I worked on this page, so I kept it very simple. I used some chipboard letters from CTMH to highlight that it was week 7. I used all black and white cards but added lots red to for Valentine's week.
I used some chalk to highlight the Love and Valentine's words. I cut some free hand hearts too!
I added an extra page protector 8.5" x 11" to show the Valentine drink list and on the other side the newspaper clipping from the Brad Paisley concert.

Book Review: The Secret Lives of Dresses
This book was wonderful-2 thumbs up from me!!! The story is of a young girl who has to come back to where she grew up because her grandmother (who raised her) had a stroke. The grandmother runs a vintage dress shop. As the story goes on the grand-daughter discovers that each of the dresses in the shop come with a "secret life" a story written by her grandmother from the dresses point of view. Customers who shop there know that the dresses come with secret lives. Great book, great story and an easy read....I highly recommend this one.

Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner!!
Thanks for all the ideas for the card! I might re-make the card if I have time, but since I copied it from one in an older idea book (pg 38 of the Winter 2011 catalog) I have a good idea how it would look the other way.

That happens to me occasionally, too. I love the Stella paper, but that side is a bit busy for me, as well. I tend to like more solid patterns, like that Lagoon side, for instance. But, I think it actually works with the stamp set you used, and the elements combined make it an attractive card. :)

Remember & a prize!!
To be honest this card almost ended up in the trash. In person it seems way to busy to me-but I kept it and left it with my display and a couple of customers loved it. So I thought I would show it to you, What do you think? I think the back ground paper is way to busy and should be a solid. Leave a comment in the comment section, and I will select a random winner and send it to you along with a prize!

Valentine Pretzel Balls & a couple of Books
Happy Valentine's Day!!! A day of LOVE---today my love is for Chocolate filled-heart shaped-salted Pretzel Balls! They are ohhh so yummy!! And easy too! I made them from scratch and one of the things I love about the recipe is that I had everything on hand-didn't have to go to the store at all. Not having to go to the store was great, because we had a small snow storm here and I didn't want to leave the house. To make you very own Salted Pretzel Balls go here.
Also that I have an older video how how to make that Valentine card-a simple one you can make in no time at all! Click here.
Lord John is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters from my favorite author Diana Gabaldon. The hand of devils is a book of 3 smaller stories where Lord John investigates murders/mysteries of fellow soldiers. He is very entertaining. I enjoy reading how he handles people and events.
The brotherhood of the blade is wonderful. Lord John sets out to discover who murdered his father several years ago. Lord John's mother is getting remarried, and soon to be step-father has a step son who becomes his step brother as well as his brother-in-arm. He (Percy) joins the regiment and things get very interesting between Percy and John, causing much conflict. Lord John's mother is hiding a very big secret that John must get to the bottom of. Jamie Fraser appears a few times in this book, making the the story between those too even more exciting.
*One thing I will say is that if you read any of the Lord John series expecting it to be like Jamie and Claire story from Outlander you will be disappointed. These stories are mysteries of 1700 military and should be read to enjoy Lord John.

Baker's Twine Flower Center
Here is a great card using the Baker's twine and Canvas stickers from the new Stella in this seasons CTMH catalog. Below is a video on how to make the flower center.
**Disclaimer**I had a great intro for this video, but when I played it back you could hear the TV from the living room......one of the really bad singers on American Idol. Note to self, turn off all the TV's in the house before I make a video.

Project Life: 2012/Week 4 & 5
Here is my Project Life Page for the 4th week-It really doesn't seem that we are already that far into 2012!! This weeks pictures include the last day my sister was here and she had got us some pink hot chocolate-
I saved one of the packages, and added it using a CTMH flip flap cut down to create an additional page.
In keeping with the pink theme from the pictures, I used one of the cards that had some pink in it. It also had some orange, so I added some buttons in that color.
I also included pictures of some baking I did on Sunday-
Here is Week 5-Once again I included a weather shot from the iphone, because it was so much warmer from the week before.
This year I have decided to include a list of all the books I read by month-this time I used some CTMH stamps and made a title card.
