This week's color combo over at Jeanette Lyntons blog was a hard one for me. I really struggled with it and this is my second attempt, the 1st one ended up in the trash. This second one is much better, and the felt flower makes the card.

A special Butterfly Stamp
I created this card using the same socks from yesterday's post as the inspiration. I changed the white to colonial white and added some desert sand cardstock as well for the base. That butterfly stamp is from an absolutely amazing stamp set the that can't be purchased-it was given to us a convention after one of the events! Close to My Heart is so generous to use, and I can't thank them enough.

Sock inspired--
One of my favorite things about convention is extravaganza-this is where fellow consultants teach us about new products and art ideas. By far my favorite was Katy's booth and her ideas about color! You can see all of her sock ideas here. This card is actually a matchbook card from the Close to My Heart book Wishes-If you don't have this book, you should get yourself a copy! It is wonderful! Check back Tuesday and Wednesday for more sock inspired projects!

Up, Up and away!
A GIANT box of new goodies arrived yesterday, by I made myself promise to use some of the wonderful stamps that I already had that have only seen ink a few times before I use any of the new ones. But I assure you-they are calling my name from the box!!
See that wonderful glitter flourish above? Can you say GLITTER GLUE!?!?! I free-handed the flourish in pencil first and then traced it with the glue. It's so sparklie!! I made 2 of these cards, and check in tomorrow to find out why, WINK, WINK! I made both of these cards using the color combo from Jeanette Lyntons blog. Be sure to check out what she made.

My current favorite breakfast
This week the challenge over at the Heart 2 Heart blog is to use a recipe in your project. For my project I just decided to create a recipe card for my current favorite breakfast! And because I love the pioneer woman so much-I decided to photography the steps to make this smoothie! It's not hard at all-I am sure even a monkey could do it without pictures, but it's just so pretty in the mixer and the glass I thought I would share.

While I was at convention I missed this color combo, but I just loved the looks of it together that I had to give it a try!
Not to long ago I was in the office supplie store-(my favorite place to shop!) and saw these little index cards-they were just too cute not to pass up! (they measure 2.5x3 half a

How about lots of Tags?
A very sweet lady that lives down the street is having a birthday next week. She is ALWAYS cooking up something wonderful and bringing it over. I thought I would make her some special tags to add to her wonderful dishes and baked goods. This project also fits the ABC(anything but a card) challenge over at the Heart 2 Heart blog.
Here you can see the cute tag that I made for the front of the box, with a chipboard Heart and rhinestones. Below are some of the tags and glassine bags that I included in the gift set. I also added some ribbon and a spool of twine. Not inside the tin are some larger treat bags and coffee bags great for sacking up homemade goodies.

Classic Colors
I think this color combo is classic-it looks so great in girly projects as well as working great for a boy or man! For this card I chose to go simple. (Mainly because I am behind on EVERYTHING right now, but I just had to make something last night). I love the bottom of the card with the dots-they look like they are part of the cardstock instead of a stamp.
{Thank You Card Supplies}

Favorite Convention Pics-
Here are some of my favorite sites and events from the Convention and Washington DC. All though I loved it there (minus the heat) I don't think I could handle living there. It's way to big of a town for this country girl!!!
I really enjoyed the 4th of July fireworks put on by the hotel-the best I have ever seen.
Some of My favorites from the Museum of American History were Julia Child's Kitchen, the history of the sewing machine and the Ball Jar. See Dorthy's ruby slippers and Minnie Pearls hat.
The best part of site seeing by far for me was the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier. It was a beautiful ceremony and an honor to see how all of the soldiers are honored.
Washington National Cathedral was breath taking and the stain glass windows were stunning. On top of that they had AC!!
I made some very special new friends and spent the week with the best ladies around!!
I really enjoyed general session and business class at convention-
And I was amazed by the guy who painted Jeanette's picture with just a few buckets of paint and his fingers!!! Someday I want to have my picture painted like that.

Operation Smile Silent Auction Project
A couple of months before Convention I was asked to make a special project for the Operation Smile Silent Auction. It was such an honor to be asked, and I couldn't turn them down. After a week of thinking on what I wanted to make-I decided on a Magnet board. A REALLY LARGE MAGNET BOARD! (Although this picture shows the project up and down, I designed the project to hang long ways on the wall.) Keep in mind a great place to display scrapbook pages or cards!
Getting a good picture of this project was a real challenge-Size and glare were causing a problem. If you got to see it, then you know that it was much nicer in person.
You should have see the GIANT box that I shipped this sucker in! Lucky I work were we ship packages everyday. It was well package, overnighted and insured for lots of money (I learned from UPS if a package is insured for more than $5000 they take VERY GOOD care of it). So this magnet board was hand carried from place to place!
I purchased the sheet metal at the hardware store and had a custom frame built for it. I decorated it with cardstock and pattern paper squares and covered them with Mod Podge. Added some large flowers and felt accents. Created a few matching magnets (I laminated those so they would last with lots of handling)

Room mate gifts!
I made each of my room mates ones of these sets of clothes pins and binder clips. In addition I also gave them a cherry chipboard album to cover later and a Japanese umbrella to block the sun while we toured DC!
You can see here that I used some felt flowers, leaves and brads to decorate the clothes pins. I used rub-ons to label each of the clothes pins.

Back from Convention!
I had a wonderful time, and am ready to get busy crafting,
BUT first I must rest; catch up on a weeks worth of house work and laundry; not to mention a weeks worth of work at work. So bare with me, I'll be back soon.
